2024 Spring Coach Registration

HOW TO REGISTER

Instructions to Register as an Oak Hills Coach:

Step 1 : Complete SafeSport Training

You will be asked to upload your SafeSport certificate on the coach registration form.

The US Congress has passed, and the President has signed, a law that affects the responsibility of coaches, club officials, and other volunteers to report when they see or suspect physical or sexual abuse of a minor. Oregon Youth Soccer and our member and affiliate clubs such as OHSC are included because all adults registered to OYSA are authorized to interact with minor athletes at events that we sanction. The new statute defines an event to include, “…travel, lodging, practice, competition, and health or medical treatment….” All of our member and affiliate clubs are involved with practices and competitions.

* Please note, coaches who have previously completed the SafeSport training, may need to complete the 20-minute refresher course for the 2023-2024 season. Certificates need completion dates of Feb 1, 2023 or later.*

You can access the training with the following link:

SafeSport Training

Set up an account or login to your existing account. Click on “Menu” and select “Catalog”.  Click the Start button for “SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation” to complete the course.

By completing the registration below you acknowledge as a coach you are a mandatory reporter of abuse. OHSC does not tolerate any abuse and per US Congress law, everyone involved in youth sports is a mandatory reporter of abuse.

Step 2 : Complete Concussion Training
You will be asked to upload your concussion certificate on the coach registration form.

Oregon law requires coaches to be trained in recognizing signs of concussion and to know how to respond appropriately to concussions when they occur. Oak Hills requires ALL coaches to complete concussion training annually.   If you have recently completed a concussion training for another sport or organization, in most cases we can accept proof of this in lieu of completing another session.

* Please note, if you have completed the concussion training since January 1, 2023, even if it was for another sport, you may attach that certificate in your registration. *

You can access the training with the following link:

Step 3: Complete this registration for OHSC

There will be a spot to upload both SafeSport and concussion certifications on the registration form.

Step 4: Complete the OYSA background check

OYSA Background Check

The background check must be cleared before you can be assigned to a roster.  Also, until we have a current background check and OHSC registration from the coaches associated with your team, we will not assign your team a practice field.

* Please note, if you completed the OYSA background check for the 2023 fall season, you WILL NOT need to complete the form again

COVID Protocols:

Any COVID protocols will be determined prior to the start of the season.

Registrants agree to adhere to these protocols.

Thank you!
